A Hundred Thousand

A perfectly-crafted snowflake falls. A child smiles. A star lights up the sky. The wind blows through evergreens. The sun rises in the morning.

A thousand reasons.

People laugh, hope, draw close togetherlove.

A thousand upon a thousand reasons...to worship.

Snow drifts on the dirt road, curling into a delicate sculpture of beauty. Wonder fills the eyes of a child as she balances blocks into a colorful tower. Light filters in through an open window, filling the air with fresh sweetness.

A thousand reasons to worshipalways.

The world turns; the sun warms the earth; the clouds water the ground. Order happensall because God is. And as long as He is, there is a reason to sing praise!

"May the glory of the LORD endure forever;
may the LORD rejoice in His works,
who looks on the earth and it trembles,
who touches the mountains and they smoke."
Psalm 104:31-32

How many opportunities to praise Him do we miss every day?

That question has weighed on my mind the past couple of months, not in a frantic, "gotta get on top of this" sort of way. But it's weighed on me in a way that has caused my eyes to fly open, revealing all the joys God gives to His children each day.

"I will sing praise to the LORD as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have being."
Psalm 104:33

In the very midst of crippling fear, the reason to worship exists. In the very moment of pain and confusion, God is constant, and His world continues to declare that constancy and grace, giving us a reason to singalways.

Lord, help us to be children who are aware of YOU all around us, lifting our voice in constant worship.
