Of Switzerland & Beyond
Our time in France came to a close, and we left by speed train early Tuesday morning. We were headed to the end of the line, Zurich Switzerland, and we felt pretty posh on the second level of the train with our shared shot of espresso. Within a few hours, we reached Zurich, and we made a bee-line to the information desk. We only had a mere 36 hours in Switzerland before our plan left for Vienna, Austria the next day. Somehow, I tumbled out the fact that we only had x amount of money and time, while desiring to get out of the city (country girls in need of open skies and fields--surprise!).
The two days we spent in Switzerland were some of my most-cherished moments. After climbing an apple tree near some curious calves, getting thoroughly drenched by rain, and
stumbling across a quaint town, we were able to stay with friends who kindly opened up their couch for a couple of weary travelers.
Though we weren't quite ready to leave, we boarded yet another plan to Austria where we met up with my main motivation for crossing the ocean: my dear friend, Kat. After nearly two years apart, we were just a little happy to finally be together again! It was hard to believe that we hadn't seen each other since Bible college in New Zealand. It's amazing how God brings the world together.
She brought us to Sopron, Hungary, where she has been ministering for the past six months. Our time in Hungary consisted of sleep, music, laughter, fellowship with other believers, lots of tea, and oatmeal (of course).
